About Heather Opal

Heather Opal…

Heather received her middle name, Opal, from her maternal grandfather’s grandmother. She has always been inspired by natural opals.

University of North Carolina at Charlotte is where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Painting and minor in Art History. Traveling the United States and Europe throughout high school and studying abroad in college has given Heather a special appreciation for how large, yet so small the world really is. Heather’s last international trip was hiking Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.

With a toddler at her feet and wearing her baby Heather started a new collection after 10 years of not painting. She felt moved to paint a collection of hearts for a local family experiencing a devastating loss. Heather Opal Artwork and the Heather Opal Heart Fund were born were born of an intense need to contribute to the world and her immediate community.

Empathy and compassion are at the heart of Heather’s work. She believes we are all connected. Through our shared experiences we develop deep bonds by honoring one another.

“Love is the bond, created at the heart of shared experience.”
